This past week saw tens of thousands of immigration reform supporters nationwide march together for dignity and respect for immigrants.
From New York to Los Angeles, people took to the streets and united to call on our elected officials to pass immigration reform with a path to citizenship for the 11 million undocumented living in the shadows.
The nationwide actions culminated in a march on Washington this past Tuesday, which saw tens of thousands gather at the National Mall and concluded with more than 200 arrested in an act of civil disobedience. Among those arrested were eight members of Congress, who locked arms and stood side by side with our allies to fight for this very important cause.
Here on Long Island, hundreds gathered in Brentwood and marched in unison with over 5,000 of our allies in Brooklyn.
This video, courtesy of the New York Immigration Coalition, highlights some of the sights and sounds of the rally in Brooklyn, which included a march across the Brooklyn Bridge.
