TODAY: Long Islanders To Bolster the Ranks of Occupy Wall Street

For too long, our government has coddled Wall Street at the expense of struggling families all across the United States. As the 99% struggle to make ends meet, 1% of billionaires are laughing all the way to the bank.

For all of us who know what it’s like to struggle to put food on our tables, for those of us who can’t afford to send our children to college or pay for the nursing care of our parents, for those of us who have recently lost our jobs or are being paid far below the poverty line—we protest at Wall Street together.

Occupy Wall Street is a profoundly important form of social action that is deeply connected to the struggle against the racial and economic oppression of all of us, and we ask you to join us as we march this Wednesday, October 5.

Long Island Jobs with Justice, the Long Island Progressive Coalition, and 1199 SEIU will be mobilizing members and the community on Long Island to attend.
