Suffolk County Police Will Hold Forum For Community Questions and Concerns on Policy

The Suffolk County Police Department (SCPD)’s Third Precinct will host a forum to help inform the community about department policies and discuss issues they are facing. Hosted in collaboration with Adelante of Suffolk County and The Economic Opportunity Council of Suffolk County, the meeting is open to the public.

Topics of discussion at the meeting will include some of the following:

  • SCPD Language Access Plan and policy.
  • SCPD ICE policy (re-affirm that SCPD does not inquire immigration status unless the person is under arrest)
  • The importance of reporting crimes when victimized
  • Available interpretation services
  • How to lodge a complaint against a police officer or other department member
  • Tenant’s rights
  • Current scams directed toward Limited English Proficient persons
