
Comprehensive immigration reform would not only bring more than 11 million undocumented immigrants out of the shadows, it would give millions of workers, many of them performing some of the most critical work in our country, the same workers’ rights that many of us often take for granted.
Undocumented immigrant workers are often victims of wage theft by unscrupulous employers, who know that the workers may be afraid of speaking up because of their immigration status. Some workers are denied the wages they are due, while others are injured on the job and do not receive the medical care that is needed.
Cristina Tzitzun, Executive director of the Workers Defense Project in Texas sat down with Alec Baldwin to discuss what her organization is doing to help workers that were taken advantage of, regardless of their immigration status.
