
This week in our New York Times immigrant focused op-doc series, we bring you The Shampoo Summit. In her hometown of Haifa, Israel, Iris Zaki, the op-doc’s director, takes a job working in a hair salon called Fifi’s, which is owned by two Christian Arab women and is beloved by Jewish and Arab women alike. Here she finds an unexpected place where different groups intersect and connect through the simple rituals of everyday life.
