While there has been much talk of the Senate “Gang of Eight” charged with formulating a comprehensive immigration reform proposal, the House of Representatives has at the same time been working on its own deal, albeit without the same public fanfare.
Rep. John Yarmuth of Kentucky, one of the House members negotiating an immigration reform bill, believes that his group is “very close” to a final deal. He notes that the major issues have already been agreed upon, and it’s the smaller details that remain.
