TPS Program Extended

The Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program for Hondurans and Nicaraguans has just been extended by the Obama administration. To renew, generally a citizen of those two countries must have been granted TPS already. Those renewing will receive a work authorization card good until January 5, 2015.

The renewal period is extremely short. If you already have TPS and would like to renew, you must file by June 3, 2013. Because the Immigration Service expects delays in processing renewals, existing work authorizations are automatically extended until January, 5, 2014.

For more information, contact CARECEN at 516-489-8330 Mondays through Thursdays.

For immigrants in Suffolk, call CARECEN at 631-273-8721 Mondays through Wednesdays.
