The Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program for Hondurans and Nicaraguans has just been extended by the Obama administration. To renew, generally a citizen of those two countries must have been granted TPS already. Those renewing will receive a work authorization card good until January 5, 2015.
The renewal period is extremely short. If you already have TPS and would like to renew, you must file by June 3, 2013. Because the Immigration Service expects delays in processing renewals, existing work authorizations are automatically extended until January, 5, 2014.
