Teen Arrested for Making Hate Graffiti in New Hyde Park

On August 3, Nassau County police arrested 16-year-old Luke Georges for drawing a swastika on a walkway at the Manor Oaks School in New Hyde Park. Georges is being charged with aggravated harassment, which is a bias crime.

The Third Squad reports the details of Criminal Mischief that occurred on July 24, 2011, at 8:30pm in New Hyde Park.

According to detectives, the defendant Luke Georges, 16, of—————- did draw his initials as well as a swastika onto a rear cement walkway of the Manor Oaks School located at 1950 Hillside Avenue. In addition the defendant also spread roofing tar onto a set of metal doors and nearby windows. Plainclothes officers located the defendant and placed him under arrest on August 3, 2011.

Georges is charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd degree, Aggravated Harassment 1st degree, and Making Graffiti. He will be arraigned on August 4, 2011 at First District Court in Hempstead.
