Take to Social Media for Social Change Today

There will be two Twitter Town Halls today on immigration reform.

If you have a Twitter account, just search the hashtag #CIRmarkup to follow all the action. If you are not on Twitter, I’d advise you to sign up for free today and follow Long Island Wins at @longislandwins. Same thing for Facebook. The breaking news and information on immigration reform will be hitting social media on Twitter and Facebook first.

Here is the announcement of the Twitter Town Hall from the statewide New Yorkers For Real Immigration Reform campaign:

This week the immigration legislation proposed by the Senate Gang of Eight goes to “markup”, the process where they amend, rewrite and debate the proposal. This is an important week to keep pressure up on Congress! If you are on Twitter, join us for a conversation on the next steps for immigration reform and how YOU can get involved! details below:

Please join the New Yorkers for Real Immigration Reform campaign for a Twitter townhall today at 2pm and repeated at 8pm. Follow the conversation by using the hashtag #CIRmarkup. If you have any questions, please email Thanu Yakupitiyage at tyaku@thenyic.org or Jazmin Chavez at jchavez@latinojustice.org.
