While our nation waits for our elected officials to draft a comprehensive immigration reform proposal, many here on Long Island have continued to work locally to ensure that the end result is commonsense immigration policy that works for everyone.
Organizations such as New York Communities for Change, Make the Road New York, Long Island Civic Engagement Table, as well as Long Island Wins have been at the forefront of pushing for real reform, not only here on Long Island, but across the nation.
Our latest effort is a statewide and nationwide bus tour to begin in Brentwood this Sunday, March 10, and culminate in a trip to Washington, D.C.
