Lawyers Needed to Volunteer to Help Immigrants Apply for Citizenship

The Suffolk Immigration Project of the Suffolk County Bar Association and Nassau Suffolk Law Services is holding a training (with Continuing Legal Education credits) for lawyers who want to help immigrants apply for Citizenship. Here is what the Project sent us:
Don’t miss this opportunity! The CLE is taking place this Thursday at the SCBA. Our new pro bono program is currently recruiting volunteer attorneys to assist indigent immigrants who have Permanent Resident immigration status to obtain citizenship through the Naturalization process.
Even if you do not have immigration experience, you can learn more about the Naturalization process at an upcoming CLE event at the Suffolk County Bar Association on May 17, 2018 at 1:30 P.M, sponsored by the Suffolk Academy of Law.

Also, Guest Keynote! Patrick Young, Esq., Program Director at CARECEN (Central American Refugee Center), co-founder of the Long Island Civic Engagement Table, and Special Professor of Immigration Law at Hofstra University School of Law. He will be presenting on the current legal perils facing the indigent non-citizen community on Long Island.
