Just wanted to let you know that on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 6 pm you can catch a terrific free program at Hofstra University featuring Larry Kirwan, the great rocker and very cool author. His songs explore Irish identity, the immigrant experience, and urban life. His books are funny, poignant, and political. Back in the day, you used to watch him “there on your MTV”, and he will sing some of the great songs from his band Black 47.

Kirwan brings his Rock and Read Tour to the Helene Fortunoff Theater, Monroe Lecture Center, south campus, California Avenue (ample public parking in back). Larry is an amazing performer, and he combines literature and rock music on this tour. Do not miss this show.
