I’m at the National Workshop for Teachers of Immigration Law at Hofstra Law School. A lot of the biggest names in academia are here in Hempstead this week. I was lucky enough to be able to present on the hate crime record in Suffolk County and what local groups like CARECEN, the Long Island Immigrant Alliance, and the Long Island Civic Engagement Table have done to counter the climate of hatred. I’ll report more on this next week.

Suffice it to say, every immigration law scholar has heard of Steve Levy and the shame of Suffolk.
