Hate Crime at Suffolk Mosque

We just received the following hate crime alert from the Suffolk County Police Department:

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Suffolk Police Hate Crimes Unit are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person(s) responsible for making graffiti on the exterior walls of a mosque located in North Bay Shore.

Sometime between Wednesday, September 12 and Thursday, September 13, 2012, unknown persons spray painted the words “RIP US Ambassador” and “The War Will Rise” on the exterior wall on the north side of the Masjid Darul Quran mosque, which is located at 1514 East 3rd Avenue in North Bay Shore.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
