Free Classes and Services for Immigrants

There are a variety of free services available to everyone, including immigrants, right here on Long Island.

The Literacy Nassau Opportunity Center is offering free ESL and citizenship classes as well as free access to legal counsel to anyone to wishes to enroll.

Classes will be held at Literacy Nassau’s main location in Freeport, as well as at public libraries in Elmont, Hicksville and Hillside.

Free appointments with Immigration Attorneys will be available for any student enrolled in the class.

Freeport
At Literacy Nassau, 187 Smith Street, Freeport

Classes run for 12 weeks beginning the week of April 8th.  Classes are available in the mornings, evenings, and on Saturdays.

Registration will take place at Literacy Nassau:
Thursday, March 28th: 9am-7pm
Monday, April 1st: 9am-4:30pm
Tuesday, April 2nd: 9am-11am
Thursday, April 4th: 9am-7pm
Friday, April 5th: 9am-11am

Elmont
At Elmont Public Library!

Classes run on Mondays and Wednesdays
from 12:30-3:30pm, beginning April 8, 2013.

Open registration will take place on Wednesday, March 27th and Wednesday, April 3rd from 12:30-3:30pm at Elmont Library.

Hicksville
At the Hicksville Library Computer Resource Center!

Classes run on Mondays and Wednesdays
from 5:45pm-8:45pm, beginning April 8, 2013.

Open registration will take place on Monday, March 25th and Monday, April 1st from 6pm-8pm at the Hicksville Library Computer Resource Center.

Hillside
At Hillside Public Library!

Classes run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
from 12:00-2:00pm, beginning April 9, 2013.

Open registration will take place on Tuesday, March 28th and Thursday, April 2nd from 12:00-2:00pm at Hillside Library.
