I just got this information from the Social Justice Committee at Shelter Rock Unitarian:

On Wednesday, November 30 the Shelter Rock Forum and the Social Justice Committee of the UU Congregation at Shelter Rock (UUCSR) are co-sponsoring “Aliens, Immigrants and Other Evildoers”, a performance by artist and actor, José Torres-Tama. An Ecuadorian immigrant himself and naturalized U.S. citizen living in New Orleans since 1984, he conceived this production after hearing of the murder of Marcello Lucero on Long Island in 2009. His award-wining performance explores the current fear raging against Latino immigrants in the U.S. In this sci-fi Latino noir multimedia performance the artist shapeshifts into numerous Latino “extraterrestrials” who bilingually challenge the hypocrisy of a country built by immigrants that vilifies the same people whose labor it exploits. Please join us on Wednesday, November 30 at 7:30 pm in the UUCSR Social Hall for this not to be missed performance. Suggested donation: $5. This will be a bi-lingual presentation. UUCSR Social Hall, 48 Shelter Rock Road, Manhasset, NY 11030. Call Social Justice Coordinator Claire Deroche at (516) 627-6560, Ext. 177 for further information. Directions at www.uucsr.org.
