The New York Immigration Coalition has been active on Long Island for a quarter of a century, but, until this year, it never had a full-time office on Long Island. Today, the Coalition convened the first meeting of its Long Island Steering Committee. The Steering Committee will help the Coalition guide its advocacy in the region. Any member organization may join the Steering Committee as long as it has a location on Long Island.
The Coalition will also hold a Stakeholders’ Meeting next week that is open to all pro-immigrant groups on Long Island. Members and non-members alike are invited. For information on the Stakeholders’ Meeting, contact Ivan Larios at email@example.com.
