Volunteer attorneys will help low-income immigrants with Legal Permanent Resident status obtain citizenship through the naturalization process in a series of clinics. The first clinic will be held in Islandia on October 30.

Free assistance from an attorney in completing the USCIS Naturalization application and fee waiver forms and Spanish interpreters will be available. Applicants MUST call ahead to be screened for eligibility for this program. Please call (631) 822-3282. Callers will be given an appointment and information on how to reach the free clinic.

CARECEN supports this important new initiative and strongly encourages immigrants to take advantage of this program. The Suffolk Bar Association and Nassau/Suffolk Law Services are looking at ways the legal community can serve immigrants better.
