Please call Nassau District Attorney Madeline Singas at 516-571-3800 and ask her to support driver’s licenses for immigrants. We are in the last weeks of the legislative session and Long Island State Senators want backing from law enforcement before they sign on to the bill allowing immigrants to apply for driver’s licenses regardless of immigration status.
Ask the District Attorney to support the Driver’s License Access and Privacy Act (Senate Bill 1747).
This bill was recently amended to address concerns from law enforcement. It will allow immigrants to obtain learner’s permits so they can take driver’s education courses and take the road test to obtain a license. It will improve safety for everyone.
