On this episode of the Long Island Wins Radio Show, we talk with the distinguished President of SUNY Old Westbury, Dr. Calvin O. Butts about the upcoming “Voices Against Violence” tribunal. Dr. Butts called the tribunal in response to a call put out by Newsday for community leaders to start discussions on “policing, trust in the criminal justice system, and the racial segregation of our schools and housing.” However, the tribunal has been postponed due to Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ visit to Long Island. In the show, Dr. Butts also addresses Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ visit as a means to promote his anti-immigrant platform.

You can read more on Dr. Butts’ thoughts on the Sessions’ visit in his Letter to the Editor in Newsday.

You can listen to the Long Island Wins Radio Show the last Wednesday of the month at 4:00pm by visiting www.owwr.org
