In the latest edition of the Long Island Wins Show we talk to Pat Young, an immigration attorney and program director for CARECEN about the impacts of recent executive orders signed by President Trump. The executive orders encourage local law enforcement to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in order to deport hundreds of undocumented people in addition to threatening federal funding for sanctuary cities and imposing a ban on refugees and immigrants from seven Muslim-majority countries. Pat analyzes these orders and discusses the effect on immigrant communities nationwide as well as the implementation memos put out by the Department of Homeland Security to act on these executive orders.
