In the newest episode of the Long Island Wins show, we discuss the power and impact of “A Day Without Immigrants.” On February 16th, 2017, immigrants abstained from work, school, or shopping venues of any kind in efforts to show the Trump administration the economical impact of the immigrant community. Long Island Win’s very own Laura Lemus, Special Projects Coordinator, did not join the show in hopes her absence would contribute to this message. Our executive director Maryann Slutsky also went through all of the different aspects of the three executive orders signed by President Trump.
