We just received this from LawHelp New York:

By now Hurricane Sandy has left New York.  We hope most of you are safe and sound with your families.  Sadly, many New Yorkers are facing a slow return back to normal life.  Many communities around NYC and the state have experienced record flooding and building and street damage.

As we work together to repair our homes and communities, we’ve put together a list of key federal, state, and local resources available for New Yorkers.

We will be updating this page regularly as we learn of new assistance in the coming days and weeks, so make sure to check back often:

NYS Hurricane Sandy Recovery Resources

Keep in mind that if you need disaster assistance immediately, contact FEMA at 1-800-621-3362 or the NYS Hurricane Sandy Helpline at 1-888-769-7243.

Please pass this information to coworkers, family, or friends in New York who may find this useful.
