A recent spate of hate crimes against Latinos has followed in the wake of red hot rhetoric against immigrants. A 58 year-old Latino man was beaten with a pole in Boston Wednesday by two men who said they were inspired to carry out the attack by Donald Trump. According to the Boston Globe, the assailants urinated on the homeless immigrant before beating him senseless.
One of the hate criminals, Scott Leader, 38, told the police that it was legitimate to attack immigrants because, he said, “Donald Trump was right, all these illegals need to be deported.”
When asked about the attack, Trump responded that “I will say that people who are following me are very passionate. They love this country and they want this country to be great again. They are passionate.”
