Rally on Saturday Dec. 1 at 1:30 PM Against the Tear Gassing and For Asylum
December 1, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
RALLY ON SATURDAY December 1 at 1:30 PM
On November 25th U. S. Border Agents fired tear gas and rubber bullets at a group of immigrants including young children. These policies are cruel and unjustified, and must be loudly rejected. The people who were fired upon are fleeing dangerous conditions and have the human and legal right to seek asylum in the U.S. There are reports of children still being separated from their parents and there is an unprecedented number of children in detention.Join Families Belong Together, LIICAH and TWWLI on Dec. 1st to say, “STOP THE TEARS” as we demand compassion and justice at the border.
The rally is at the corner of RTE 110 and Jericho Tpke in Huntington.
We are being co-sponsored by Suffolk Progressives, Young Progressives of Nassau County, PEER/ NYPAN- Progressive East End Reformers, CARECEN, SULI, ATLI, Latinos Unidos de Long Island, Pantsuit Nation LI, Get2Work LI, LINC, Liberally Long Island, Dedicated to Democracy, New York 2nd District Democrats, Raising Voices, Long Islanders for Gun Safety, NOW Nassau County, Indivisble RVC, NOW NYS , Interfaith Clergy Council of Syosset, Woodbury, Cold Spring Harbor, Jericho and Westbury, Congregation Simchat Halev, Long Island Activists, Huntington Rapid Response, Central American Refugee Center, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Huntington , Organize-Plan-Act, The Long Island Progressive Coalition and Long Island Immigrant Student Activists among others.
