In our final episode of Safe Talk, we talk to Tonya Thomas, assistant director of SUNY Old Westbury’s Community Action Learning and Leadership (CALL) program, on the outcome of their Communities Against Hate program. We discuss how students reacted to upstander/bystander trainings and how the program impacted them. We also give a brief hate crime report for the month of April, hear from audio engineer and Long Island Wins intern Margaret Caruso about her experiences during the internship, and say goodbye to our Special Projects Coordinator Laura Lemus.
