Long Island Wins is partnering with Hofstra University's Center for Civic Engagement to host a summit on immigration on Feb. 26.
Two weeks ago Long Island Wins launched its very first Internet radio show, The Long Island Wins Show, on OWWR Old Westbury Web Radio (owwrny.org). We are very excited to now have our own Internet talk show. Using the medium of radio will expand our reach as a communications organization, which will allow us to find new ways to bring you the latest news on immigration, share immigrant stories, and highlight the critical work the advocacy community is doing to make Long Island a more welcoming and inclusive place to live and work for our new immigrant neighbors.

In our second episode Long Island Wins’ Online Editor, Christian Bonawandt, is joined in the studio by Executive Director Maryann Sinclair Slutsky and special guest Michael D’Innocenzo, a founding member of Hofstra University’s Center for Civic Engagement, to talk about our upcoming summit on immigration, which will take place on Feb. 26 at Hofstra University’s student center.

The Long Island Wins Show will broadcast biweekly on Thursdays at 12 p.m. from the OWWR studio on the SUNY College at Old Westbury campus (owwrny.org). Our next show will air on February 19 at 12 p.m. when we will discuss the Welcoming Long Island initiative and how Long Island is at the forefront of the immigrant integration movement. So please tune in and let us know if you would like to be a guest or would like to hear about a specific immigration topic.
