Join Together for Voter Registration Action and Press Conference

It’s time for real immigration reform!

In recent weeks, the President and leaders in Congress have made clear calls for immigration reform, and one thing is certain: the conversation in America is changing. You helped bring about that change—but there’s still work to be done.

On Thursday morning, February 21, from 8:30AM – 12:00PM, teams from Make the Road New York (MRNY), the Long Island Civic Engagement Table (LICET), and its allies will take to the streets of Brentwood to talk to residents about the importance of immigration reform and register them to vote.  Community members will then speak at a press conference at 11:30AM in Ross Park to explain why they are demanding a just and humane immigration overhaul in 2013.

Can we count on you to join us?

When: Thursday, February 21st, at 8:30AM

Where: 1090 Suffolk Avenue, Brentwood, NY

Note: 11:30AM press conference will be at Ross Park (1st Ave. and Brentwood Road, Brentwood)

What: Voter Registration and Press Conference for Immigration Reform

Our organizations are coming together with dozens of groups from around Long Island to advance the cause of immigration reform on Long Island as we seek to spur civic engagement.  Come join us to meet fellow Long Island residents who want to see meaningful immigration reform pass this year. It’s up to us to get members of our community engaged to make sure that politicians have commit to fixing this broken system.

So, please RSVP here to join us on Thursday at 8:30AM.  And, if you can’t make it at 8:30, join us anyway for the press conference at 11:30AM at Ross Park (1st Ave. and Brentwood Road, Brentwood).

See you there!
