On Wednesday January 8th, the State of the State address by our Governor Cuomo is scheduled to begin at 1:30 PM. The NYS Dream Act Coalition along with other supporting organizations including Long Island Wins, will be participating in a social media action beginning at 12:30 PM and running through his entire speech.
The goal of the media action is to flood social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter with tweets and photos of undocumented students, allies and other supporters who are urging Governor Cuomo to put the Dream Act in his budget this year. Through this action we also need to be sure it is clear that the Coalition is supporting the Dream Act and not the Dream Fund.
The idea is to induce a concentrated mass of tweets and posts to make a real impact! We hope you can collaborate with the NYS Dream Act Coalition and Long Island Wins on this social media action to show support for the much needed NYS Dream Act!
