GED Programs in Spanish for DACA Applicants

Among the qualifications for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program is that the applicant must be currently be enrolled in school, graduated high school, received a GED, or registered for a GED course. For some potential applicants the difficulty is finding a GED program that caters to their native language. For those with this predicament should consider the Circulo de la Hispanidad in Hempstead. They are offering the GED course and exam in Spanish. Consider some of the following information:
• Must be 21 years old to enroll.
• Enrollment fee is $100 per month. Duration of course varies depending on the individual’s performance.
• As of November 20, 2012 the course is offered ONLY in Spanish.
• Classes are offered Monday to Thursday from 9-11am OR Monday and Tuesday from 6-9pm and Wednesday 6-8pm.
• To register visit the offices of the Circulo de la Hispanidad located in 91 N. Franklin St., #200, Hempstead, NY 11550.

Another GED program to consider is the Brentwood Continuing Education program in the Brentwood High School. Consider some of the following information:
• Must be 21 years old to register.
• There is a $10 fee for enrollment.
• The school is located at 2 Sixth Ave, Brentwood, NY 11717.
• For the English program registration will take place on January 29, 2013 starting at 6:45pm. For the Spanish program registration will take place on January 28, 2013 starting at 7:30pm. These are the only dates for registration.
• The program runs from the end of January to May. The time of the classes will be Monday and Wednesday from 6:30-9:30pm OR Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30-9:30pm.
