Immigrants from all over the world come here to work hard and take care of their families. We all work side by side to pursue the American Dream.
As we reflect on this 12th anniversary of September 11, let us remember that those we lost came from 115 different countries. One-fifth of the victims were foreign-born.
More than 100 were undocumented immigrants – deliverymen, waiters, cleaners, cooks. Because of their immigration status, many families were unable to receive closure as to what happened to their loved ones.
Firefighters, cooks, stock traders, police officers, it didn’t matter what their job was that day. They were Americans.
Long Island Wins sends its thoughts and prayers to the families of the 2,977 victims and the 115 countries that they represented.
