One month ago, we asked you to support Welcoming Long Island, an initiative of Long Island Wins, in an effort to spread the word about welcoming work on Long Island and help secure funding for future projects.
The outreach was part of the Starbucks Vote.Give.Grow. program, which offered Starbucks customers a chance to vote online for their favorite local cause. Participating groups like Welcoming Long Island would be awarded grant money to fund their work.
The results were fantastic! Hundreds of Long Islanders responded with a show of support, and we would like to thank all of you that have taken the time and effort to vote for the Welcoming initiative.
Welcoming Long Island feels immensely proud to have been chosen as one of the community-based organizations from New York to participate in this program. Thanks to your votes these past several weeks, the initiative will receive a $15,000 grant from the Starbucks Foundation to fund its work!
