The Immigration Courts reopened on Monday. Lawyers are reporting that hearings are going ahead normally in most cases. If an immigrant has a hearing scheduled, he or she should definitely appear at the court. For so-called Master Calendar hearings, immigrants are typically getting an appointment for a final hearing on the merits two to three years later.

Attorneys say that there are long lines for filing papers with the clerks of the court. Those with filing deadlines should arrive early to make sure papers are filed on time.
