Call Cuomo Today and Ask Him To Support the New York DREAM Act

During a mobilization in Albany last week, immigrant students from across the state asked Gov. Andrew Cuomo to come out in support of the New York DREAM Act, which would give undocumented youth access to state financial aid for college.

So far, the governor has not said whether he will support it or not. Without a guarantee that Cuomo will sign the bill, we will have a tough time winning over the handful of Republican state senators we need for passage. They don’t want to take the political risk of voting for the bill, only to have the Democratic governor veto it.

Call Gov. Cuomo at 866-452-1134 and tell him that you want him to include funding for the bill in his budget.

“Hi, My name is ______ and I live in ______ and I’m calling to urge ______ (name of elected official) to include the New York DREAM Act, which opens up the Tuition Assistance Program to undocumented youth, in the final enacted budget this year.”

With your support, we can pass the DREAM Act this year. Please make these calls and tell our elected leaders that all New Yorkers should have the right to a college education.
