Opening Day for the Long Island Hispanic Soccer Federation [PHOTOS]

Soccer isn’t new to Long Island, but with the steady growth of Latino immigrant communies in Nassau and Suffolk over the past decade, the number of adults playing the game in the area has increased such that you’re likely to see fútbol being played alongside softball or basketball on any given weekend.

This Sunday, Long Island Wins sent freelance photographer Matthew Foglino to the Mitchell Athletic Complex in Uniondale to document the opening ceremony and start of the summer league for the Long Island Hispanic Soccer Federation.
